How much of your facility
can you actually use?
See how eligibility, advance rates, reserves and drawings change available headroom. Start with the illustration, then adjust the assumptions.
Educational illustration, not a funding indication. Values stay in your browser. Your provider’s statement and agreement govern actual availability.
Each scenario resets the illustration before applying one change. This avoids stacking assumptions unintentionally.
The limit is a ceiling.
It is not the whole answer.
- 01
Eligible debt
Ledger less excluded balances.
- 02
Gross advance
Eligible debt × assumed advance rate.
- 03
Apply the cap
Use the lower of gross advance and facility limit.
- 04
Headroom
Deduct reserves and current drawings; floor the display at zero.
The model takes eligible debt, multiplies it by the assumed advance rate, caps that amount at the facility limit, then deducts additional reserves and existing drawings.
− reserves − drawings
If eligible debt supports only £765,000 before reserves, raising a £1m limit to £1.25m leaves this example’s headroom unchanged.
Actual providers may apply reserves and limits differently. Avoid deducting the same exclusion or reserve twice.
What it
doesn’t tell you.
Does this calculate debtor concentration?
No. Work out any concentration-related exclusions with the provider and include the relevant amount once in excluded debt or an appropriate reserve. Do not assume every invoice is eligible.
What else can change availability?
Aged debts, disputed invoices, credit notes, approval limits, taxes, currencies, insurance conditions and provider-specific reserves can all affect it. This model simplifies those issues.
Why does it stop at zero?
A negative raw balance may indicate an overadvance or shortfall. The display floors at zero, but does not assess the contractual consequences. Check the provider’s statement.
Can I rely on this to draw funds?
No. This is an educational model. The provider’s actual availability statement and agreement determine drawing rights.
